Benefits
Mineral-washed texture with sprayed pigment on top, giving a vintage colour with localised detail. Two effects in one process route.
Limitations
Two processes in sequence, so lead time is longer than either alone. Spray coverage and shade are approved together rather than separately.
Process
- Fabric Preparation: Choose the textiles or garments. Denim, cotton and other natural fibres are common choices.
- Pigment Spray: Spray the pigment onto the selected areas, following the design plan.
- Drying: Let the sprayed pieces dry so the pigment sets properly.
- Mineral Wash: Load the pieces with abrasives into a washing machine or drum.
- Quality Check: Inspect during and after the process to confirm the texture and colour effect.
