Benefits

Two dye passes on the finished garment give a layered, double-toned colour with more depth than a single shade. Useful for tonal collections.

Limitations

Shade and transition vary between pieces, so both are approved against agreed limits. Two dye passes extend the lead time.

Process
  • Garment Preparation: Choose the garments.
  • Design Planning: Plan which areas are garment dyed and which are overdyed.
  • Garment Dyeing: Dye the whole garment and let it dry.
  • Quality Check: Inspect colour consistency and quality, and adjust where needed.
  • Overdyeing: Prepare a separate dye bath, immerse the selected areas, and rinse.
  • Rinsing, Finishing & Quality Check: Rinse the garment, complete finishing, and make a final check of the colour effect.
