Mineral Wash
Mineral wash is a textile treatment technique used to create a unique and distressed appearance on fabric, often giving it a vintage or worn-in look. The process involves using abrasive materials and minerals during the dyeing process to achieve a faded, weathered, and textured effect. This technique is commonly used on cotton and other natural fabrics to mimic the appearance of aged or well-worn garments.

Process
- Fabric Preparation: Start with dyed, dry fabric, or dye it to the base colour first. Dampen it with water, which helps the distressing.
- Abrasive Preparation: Soak the pumice stones, or have other abrasives ready.
- Wash Cycle: Load the damp fabric and the abrasives into the washing machine, and run a gentle cycle.
- Rinsing & Quality Check: Rinse to remove abrasive particles. Check the mineral wash effect once the fabric is dry.
